DIY Memory Ornaments

in , by Andrea, November 11, 2020

Hey everyone and welcome back to the blog! I just decorated for Christmas and am so excited to share my favorite ornaments with you all. They're a quick DIY and perfect as a gift!

I got this 4 pack of glass ornaments from Hobby Lobby, they have 50% off Christmas so grab them when they're on sale! You probably have a stash of extra hooks at home.

I did this with my wedding invitation. I have this paper cutter for scrap booking and it's perfect to help cut in straight lines. I cut my invitation and tried to leave the words intact. Then I took off the cap to the ornament and slid in the pieces of my wedding invitation into the ornament creating the final product. I attempted to make sure the date and our names were readable from the outside of the ornament and not covered by other pieces of the invitation. I added a piece of ribbon from my wedding bouquet to add another simple touch to it.

The second ornament I made was from our Honeymoon, sand from Hawaii. It's just special and a fun way to see the sand every year come Christmas as a memory from our Honeymoon. I'm sure you've seen tons of sand holders on Etsy or Pinterest which I liked but I wanted to have something different that I wouldn't see every day. Keeps the memory more special to me.

That's it, it's so special and quick and easy to do. It's a sweet gift to give to someone as well. Save their invitation and create an ornament for them for Christmas. You spend so much time planning a wedding, it's a sweet way to think of it every year. I hope you enjoyed this super quick and easy DIY!
