Looking Back on my Wedding Day
Part 1
Hello everyone! To kick off my new blog I wanted to start it by doing a recap of our wedding day. Our anniversary is coming up on the 22nd, and I can't believe it's already been a year. I wish I could relive our wedding day all over again. It really does fly by so soak it all in while you can, and take all the photos.
Let's start with my dress. It was purchased from New Beginnings Bridal Studio in Puyallup, WA. Never did I think I would find my dress at the first shop I'm trying on dresses at. My best advice is to be open to all ideas, and try on styles just to eliminate them regardless of what you think you'd look like in it. I really want an excuse to wear my dress again, so I'm hoping to get photos done one year for our anniversary.
We did a first look before the ceremony. I'm SO glad we did for lots of reasons. It calmed my nerves so much. I was able to see my hubby before hand which eased so much anxiety for me. I don't regret it at all, and we were able to have a few intimate moments together where we could just be ourselves. We also got some photos of us both crying as we saw each other. Such a special moment I'll never forget.
Let's talk about dinner. Mama Stortini's catered our wedding and let me say, that was one of the best decisions I ever made. They responded to every single question I had prior to the wedding. They always responded so quickly. I didn't have to worry about anything. They even served my husband and I our meals when it was ready. We chose buffet style for our guests to go get their food themselves, but they served us prior to the guests which was nice to just sit down with each other and let them come to us. They even checked on us to see if we needed anything while we were eating. Which was not expected of them at all. They just happened to come and do this on their own. Did I mention they cut and served our cake for us? They even gifted us an adorable sign that is in our home that they had on their table. I can't recommend them enough to any bride-to-be or anyone looking o have an event catered.
Now we all know people go to weddings for the cake. My husband and I LOVE funfetti, so naturally we had to find a cake baker who could make us our favorite cake to celebrate our wedding day. We chose Spilled Butter Deserts. She was so kind, and had a meeting with me to go over details about what we wanted in a wedding cake. I sent her photos of what I wanted, and she nailed it! Our cake was gorgeous and I couldn't have picked a better baker. She does deliver within X miles for a fee, which let me tell you was so worth it. I didn't have to worry about picking up the cake, setting it up, nothing. She showed up at my venue, set up my cake, and put my cake topper on it. Once again, one less thing for me to worry about. She also showed up to my venue within 30 minutes of us gaining access, taking away the stress of worrying if it would show up on time. I definitely would recommend her. We didn't save the top tier of our cake; so many people say frozen cake a year later doesn't taste good. So I actually placed an order for a small cake for us to have on our anniversary so we can still feel like we saved it.
There's so many things that go into a wedding. I'll be posting another blog on more details from our special day.
