Current Skincare Routine

in , by Andrea, August 27, 2020
Hey everyone and welcome back to the blog! I'm so excited to share my current skincare routine with you all. I've changed the products I use, and so far I'm enjoying them. I've been using these new products for almost 2 months now, and I'm beyond excited to share them with you.

I had been using products from Drunk Elephant for roughly 2 years, and I still really do enjoy their products. However, with their packaging it made it difficult to know when to restock my supply. But they're packaging is adorable and I do still enjoy their products. Their cleanser did help with my acne prone skin, which is always a plus. I really enjoy their cleanser, but it didn't foam much which is something I like to see in a cleanser. I also used a few of their moisturizers. The packaging is absolutely adorable, but you don't know when you're almost out until poof it's empty.

One of my friends Bri got me to try an exfoliating scrub from Younique. I use it 2-3 times a week right now, and it's amazing for dry skin. It helps keep the dead skin off so my skin is smoother and makeup goes on so flawlessly. It's so gentle on my face and isn't rough like I was anticipating. Bri gave me this link so you can order your own and try this product (This is a rewards link for me I get zero commission from it. The link supports Bri and her family).

I decided to try Tula skincare products, and so far I am really enjoying them! So let me start by sharing each product I've been using and how I feel about it. Lets start with their cleanser. I've been using their cult classic cleanser. I do enjoy this product, it foams really nicely which is a big reason why I enjoy this. I feel it's helped my acne prone skin, however due to masking for long periods of time at work in the hospital I'm still breaking out. So, taking masking into consideration I still really enjoy this product. The next cleanser I want to test our from them is their acne line cleanser and see if it helps my acne prone skin.

The 24/7 moisturizer is so good. I won't lie, it has a smell that took me a few days to get over it. Now that I've been using it for a while, I truly don't mind it. I have very dry skin, and this moisturizer has kept my skin from becoming dry and patchy as summer/winter are the worst months for my skin. So, we will see what happens when winter comes around and how this product treats my skin.

The Tula protect and glow sunscreen is another product I really enjoy. It's SPF 30; with protection against UV A and UV B rays! If my day will consist of me being outside, I apply this after my moisturizer, and it's the easiest step before you apply makeup. If you know me then you know how easily I burn when I'm in the sun. So any extra step that is easy to do is a winner for me. It also adds the most subtle glow and is perfect for a light / no makeup day and gives you stunning glowing skin.

One product I have mixed feelings about that I'm unsure of  if I like it or not is the blurring and moisturizing primer. I do like this product for work days at the hospital. It does give me a slight tint of color to my face, which is nice because I am truly very pale. Other than the slight color it gives me I'm not sure if I like it for a makeup primer as I like a primer that fills my pores.

Their eye balms are one of my favorite products. I have all 3 that they offer. The two I've had the longest are the cooling and brightening eye balm, as well as the brightening and neutralizing eye balm. I use the cooling eye balm before bed due to it's extreme cooling effect and it feels so good to use and relax before bed. I also really like he the brightening eye balm, I use this one every morning. I like that it's brightening my under eyes. It also claims that over time it is treating under eye circles, I took a before photo when I started using it and I'll take an after photo so I can compare them. It has a slight sheen to it, which is almost light a highlight.

I've recently gotten the so pumpkin sugar scrub collaboration with Shawn Johnson East. I've used it a couple times and so far I really enjoy it. The sugar melts into your skin the more you rub it in, it doesn't have that rough exfoliating feeling that it does when you first use it. Even when you first are rubbing it into your skin, it doesn't hurt its a gentle exfoliating feeling.  The so pumpkin collab is limited edition so grab yours while you can. I also recently have been trying the rose glow and get it eye balm. I haven't used it enough to give you a good opinion on it. I'm excited to continue using these products and continue to test new ones. I do have a link to get you 20% off your first order, comment down below if you're interested!
