Hey everyone and welcome back to the blog! I can't wait to share details about our most recent camping trip. Our friends have come here the last couple years and rave about this spot, so we had to try it. It was right off the water, and absolutely perfect! The best part, it's an Airbnb camp site that I never would have discovered if it wasn't for our friends.
Our camping spot was perfect, we took the dogs out to the water and it was so fun to see them curious about the ocean, and slightly scared by the tide at the same time. We had a lot of room to ourselves. Typically camp sites are crowded it feels like, but we had plenty of room for our tent, and still had a seperate area for our food and picnic table. We didn't feel crowded into a tiny space like you might feel at your typical KOA campground.
There were plenty of restrooms for those who didn't have a cabin. We had an outhouse that was fairly close to us, then as you walk up the campground there was a part-a-potty, and even further up was a real plumbing toilet. There was also showers you could pay to use if you felt like you needed to.
I can't rave about this campsite enough because it was so spacious. Often when I go camping I feel like we don't have enough space to spread out and relax. That wasn't the case here, especially since we had both of our dogs with us. The campsite had this wooden platform that the owners had built with boat ties on it. Some people placed their tents directly on this platform, our tent however was so big it didn't fit. We did use the boat ties though to tie our dogs to it, it was very handy having those and worked out well. Being tied to this platform, we felt our dogs had plenty of space to move around.

Let's admire this cute little hut you can rent out! I believe this one is dog friendly, and the side of it even opens up so you can view the water from your bed! It was adorable and I 100% want to stay in this cute guy one day. It looked smaller on the inside, but with a fire I can sit outside for what feels like forever. I definitely wouldn't forget your bug spray because after all you are staying on the water.
Some camping necessities I like to bring with me are this 2 burner propane stove by Coleman. This guy is so small and compact, and perfect for saving space. I try to pack minimally if I can. You'll of course need these small propane tanks with you for it, we didn't even go through an entire tank during this one night stay. All of our camping gear is hand me downs from my parents, but it's all still in great condition and very nice and handy to have with us. As far as pots and pans go, grab a couple for a cheaper price at tj maxx or home goods. This will prevent you from spending a fortune on items that are used outdoors. This table set is perfect to keep with your camping items and has everything you need, plates, cups, and bowls. This coffee pot is a must have so you can make your coffee in the morning. This 8 piece grill set is perfect to keep in your camping gear, so you're ready to grill. Next time you upgrade your silverware in your home, save your old set and put it in your camping gear. Any old kitchen items that you upgrade, use the old items in your camping gear! It's so handy to have a cheap hammer in your camping set. This way you don't forget to pack one for putting up your tent and staking it into the ground. This egg holder is perfect, it's plastic so it can get wet with cooler ice, and fits compactly in your cooler. I brought a tie out cord for the dogs. This is handy because it's longer than a leash, and gave them plenty of freedom for a campsite. You can find many other versions that are just a cord also at Petsmart. This one is handy if you don't have something strong enough to clip the cord around, you can place a stake in to the ground. We have an RTIC cooler, and love it! They're comparable to YETI coolers and are a fraction of the cost!
I hope you enjoyed this and found some of these links helpful. Comment below your necessities when you're camping that you can't leave home without! Don't forget to subscribe to my blog so you're notified when I post.
If you're looking for something fun to do nearby, check out the Olympic Game Farm! It's so much fun and is an interactive zoo! I wouldn't recommend bringing your dogs to this zoo with you. The animals literally stick their heads into your car!
