DIY Blander Ladder
Welcome back everyone! I thought I thought I'd share how I made this easy blanket ladder, for under $15! What a steal, and it required zero cutting at home, even better!
I went to Home Depot, and got 2 pieces of 8 foot, 1x3 common board. I looked for the straightest pieces, but one of mine wasn't. I feel like this adds character, so no big deal! I asked Home Depot to cut these to 6 foot pieces, then those remaining 2 foot pieces in half. This left me with a 2, 6 foot boards, and 4, 1 foot boards.
After that, I came home and sanded the pieces to get any splinters off. I then measured out where I wanted the ladder pieces, I used pencil, and re measured several times to get it just right to where I wanted them. I looked at Pinterest as well to see what other people had done. So, I drilled a screw through this 6foot piece, once I had the hole made, I retracted it slightly, then I drilled the screw into the ladder piece. This made it easier to get them on, as I did it myself and didn't have any extra hands with me.
Once I got all the pieces attached, I stained the ladder. I decided to stain after it was attached because I didn't want to stain areas that you wouldn't see. Then once it dried it was done! I'm absolutely in love, and I cannot be more excited. I do have to thank my neighbor who did this before me, and told me what wood she used and how she had it cut.
The wood itself cost $8
The stain cost $4.48 for an 8oz can.
Total cost before tax: $12.48
